Air Purifier Buying Tips

All over America different respiratory problems including asthma and also cases of allergies are in a steady rise. This has led many people to place their trust on air purifiers. However there are so many models available these days that it has become very difficult to choose one particular model. Here are some tips to help you take a decision on the purifier to buy.

The first thing you need to have an idea about is where you are going to keep the air purifier as in which room would you be using it for. Once you know that measure the dimensions of the room. You shouldnt be guessing on this and it would hardly take you a minute to measure the length and breadth of the room. Multiplying the length and breadth of the room gives you the square the footage of the room. You also need to keep in mind the kind of traffic in the room and what activities happen inside. This will give you a fair idea as to what capacity air purifier would you be needing. It is better to go for a purifier that has a bit more extra capacity than the size of your room demands, but in no way should it be less than the required capacity.

The kind of use the room is put in to dictates what kind of filter you would be needing. If someone smokes in your family then you would be needing one of those air purifiers with activated carbon filter which will be able to absorb the cigarette smoke. Similarly if you have a pet then the pet dander will be tackled better by a HEPA filter than an ionizer.

If you are buying a HEPA purifier then also be sure you check the noise levels as in some models it can be too annoying to have it in your living room or bedroom. With ionizer models the noise from the purifier is generally not an issue.

If you are settling for an ionizer air purifier you must use it in conjunction with a vacuum cleaner as for bigger particulates that remain suspended in the air, the air purifier is not all that effective.

Before taking the final call, consider the filter that comes with the purifier. If it needs replacement after a very short span of time, then you might need to reconsider your choice. Filters can be expensive, so replacing them every 6 months might not suit you budget. Ionizers do not need any filters. But they have to be cleaned regularly.

The Mayors College Fair Provides Tuition Assistance for Washington D.C. Schools

The Mayors College Fair brings together a variety of programs available for the Washington D.C. schools and their students preparing for college tuition costs. This event takes place on September 15, 2006 and provides information about a variety of college tuition assistantship programs. Students in the Washington D.C. schools are encouraged to attend the Mayors College Fair in order to learn more about the special programs open to them as Washington D.C. students.

The Mayors College Fair is being held for the first time this year as part of the Washington D.C. schools effort to coordinate the various assistantships available to graduating seniors as well as provide a public forum for discussing and disseminating this information. Hopefully, this will become an annual event at the beginning of each school year as a new class of seniors looks forward to the joys and burdens of financing a college education. This meeting will hopefully provide a structure for students in Washington D.C. schools seeking guidance about financial aid programs and packages available for Washington D.C. students.

The D.C. Tuition Assistance Grant Program

One program that has promised great potential in aiding Washington D.C. school graduates pay for college is the D.C. Tuition Assistance Grant Program (DCTAGP). This program has been going on since 2000 and provided over $100 million towards the education costs of DC residents attending college. This program covers the difference between instate and out of state tuition, up to $10,000 per year for qualified applicants. The grant can be extended over six years at any public college or university nationwide. In addition, there are limited funds available for students attending private colleges in the Washington D.C. area as well as two year community colleges nationwide.

The D.C. Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program

The D.C. Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program (DCLEAP) provides $1500 annually to those Washington D.C. school residents who show financial need. This award can be used at any accredited university nationwide. These funds are intended to be used to fill the gaps in a students financial aid package and cover many of the costs other than tuition that many students face when paying for books, housing, etc. This program is designed to help Washington D.C. school residents to find the extra help that they need to make ends meet while in college.

The D.C. Adoption Scholarship Program

The DC Adoption Scholarship (DCAS) provides up to $10,000 a year for post-high school education and training of District of Columbia children who were adopted through DCs Child and Family Services Agency, and/or children who lost one or both parents in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. These funds are meant to help lower the financial burden to those who lost their parents due to the terrorist attacks and now must take the burden of paying for college on themselves. The grants are targeted toward those members of the community most affected by the attacks as well as keeping community awareness high about the continued impact that the attacks have had on the United States.

Crystal Lake Cave In Iowa - A Great Vacation And Travel Destination

Iowa has some beautiful places that are wonderful vacation destinations. One of the must see places is Crystal Lake Cave. There is an interesting story behind this location. Back in 1868 lead miners were looking for a lead vein and they drilled 40 feet into the ground. And although they were not successful in finding the lead they had hoped for they did find something else even more amazing. What they found was Crystal Lake Cave. Although the cave was discovered for many years it was not open to the public until 1932. Bernard Markus, one of the original miners, played a role in getting the cave open to the public and it finally became so after his death.

While the miners were digging they found quite a few different types of gems and minerals that are on display in the gift shop. There is no other show cavern like Crystal Lake Cave and this is the longest a cave has been "alive" in Iowa. The cave is underground and continues to be one of the most amazing places to visit in Iowa. The tour of the cave takes about half an hour to 45 minutes and it is an adventure like none other you have ever taken. A tour guide will lead you so that you get the most out of the adventure. Keep in mind that no matter what the temperature is outside it will be quite cool in Crystal Lake Cave and the year round temperature is usually around 52 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cave is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends in May and daily in June, July and August from 9 am until 6 pm. In September the cave is open from 11 am until 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am until 5 pm on weekends. The cave is open through mid October from 11 am until 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am until 5 pm on weekends. The rest of the year the cave is closed for winter. Prices for adults are $10 and $5 for kids four to 11. Kids under four are free and senior citizens receive a 10% discount. Group pricing is available. The cave is located three miles south of Dubuque, Iowa and 20 minutes from Galena, Illinois.

Grant Basics for Beginners

Beginners to the granting process, whether for business or non-profit, are often intimidated by the hard work that it takes to write a grant application. It is hard work and it should be. No grantor wants their money wasted on a project that has poor planning and little or no effort invested into it by a grant seeker. The key to the granting process is getting organized and stop procrastinating. Here are some helpful hints to get you started.

* WRITE

Everyday you should be writing down your ideas and thoughts about your project. Saving them on a computer to a word file is preferable so you may edit, spell check, cut and paste, and reorganize them without having to continually retype.

* FIND A MENTOR

You should seek out and solicit the advice of a successful businessman or community leader whose judgment you respect. Find someone who is able to devote a few free hours a week to give you the advice and help you need with the basic fundamentals of developing a professional business plan.

* RESEARCH

Grantors already know the type of project you are contemplating. Researching the feasibilities of the success of your project and conveying that to the grantors is your responsibility. The time you spend working on your project and the information you acquire is an asset to you personally because knowledge and information is a powerful tool in business or non-profit grant seeking.

* START NOW

Whether you have a finished plan or not the time to start your grant seeking process is now. You can always work on your plan as you go. Imagine investing 6 months of your time into a project and have everything ready to go except for your grant application and then you find out that you missed the closing date of an eligible grant for your project by a couple of days. Just because you wanted everything to be perfect, now would have to wait an entire year for that particular grant application to reopen.

Notice that the letters of each hint do not spell out some cute acronym. Memorizing a list of steps just to complete a program that may or may not assist you in your goal is counterproductive. Always strive to achieve your grant through perseverance and patience. Nothing substantial is ever achieved overnight or through just plain dumb luck.

For a list of grant programs that I have personally researched that will assist you in achieving your goal, please visit http://www.grantsformoney.com

Choose Pixel Advertising Sites Wisely, and Know Who All Profits

A new form of Internet advertising has exploded and it is receiving a lot of response lately - pixel advertising. Essentially, it is where people purchase a set of pixels on the homepage of a Web site, inserting their company logo that links back to their own site. Potentially, the end result can be increased Web site traffic to both the pixel site and the advertisers placing their images there.

As a potential advertiser seeking unique online exposure and increased traffic for your Web site, use precautions before spending your money on just any pixel advertising Web site.

Dont be impulsive with your advertising dollars. Do some comparison shopping online first. Take a few moments to browse different pixel sites, read the content on their sites about their company and what makes them unique among other pixel ad sites. Compare their pricing, the sizes of pixel ads available, the placement of your ad on their homepage, and the length of time your ad will be placed on their Web site.

Choose pixel advertising sites devoted to a charitable or worth while causeAlex Tew, a UK college student, started MillionDollarHomepage.com (the first known pixel advertising site) so he could save enough money to go to college. There are others like him out there whose primary goal is to use pixel advertising as a way to donate to a charity or help others who are less fortunate. Sites like BannerCanvas.com by owner Chad King were started to raise money to help tear down his mothers old dilapidated trailer and build her a brand new house on the same property. These sites are definitely worth checking out first.

Seek out pixel ad sites whose owners already believe in natural search engine optimization, and are paying an SEO company for natural and ethical search engine optimization. How can you tell without directly asking? While it may not be the best indicator, one method is to look for keywords in the META titles, META descriptions and META keyword tags on many pages of the Web site. Look for those same keywords throughout the content on the site.

Find pixel advertising sites who will genuinely keep its word on leaving your ad on their Web site for the 5 or 10 years as promised. Many of these new pixel sites popping up everywhere will no longer be around one year from now, because they will have taken everybodys money and stopped paying for their domain and hosting fees. You do not want to advertise on a fly-by-night-take-your-money-and-run type of pixel site.

Before paying for a pixel advertising site, actually contact the owner of the pixel ad site by phone or email and get to know him or her. Ask that person questions like what he intends to do with the money generated from pixel advertising, or what percentage (if any) will be donated to charity. What charity will the money be donated to, or what individual or family will be the recipient of the donations?

Pixel advertising is fast becoming the latest online trend. As a potential advertiser, first take the time to shop around before choosing which pixel advertising site to pay for, and find out who will profit from your advertising dollars.

Ways To Keep Fit

With the high fat content and all the unhealthy ingredients in the American diet, it's important to take steps to ensure that you can keep in shape. In this article, we'll discuss some basic steps that you can take in your life to help you to stay fit.

- Watch what you eat. Fatty meats such as beef, pork, and ham should be consumed in small portions if at all, and you should opt for low-fat dairy products to keep your fat consumption to a minimum.

- Get an exercise buddy! We're much more likely to stick to an exercise schedule if we have a partner spurring us on, causing us to not want to disappoint our partner for a workout session. Simply having someone to work out with can increase the efficiency of your workout program quickly and efficiently.

- Record your results when working out. For example, if you do push-ups, record how many pushups you can do on a day-to-day basis. When you see that the number that you can do is increasing, you'll be spurred on to continue making progress. Also, by monitoring your progress, you can see when you hit a roadblock in your routine more easily, allowing you a better chance of finding the problem that is occurring.

- Eat fruits and vegetables as often as you can. Fruits and vegetables contain numerous nutrients that are necessary for the proper functioning of the human body. Vitamins and minerals are prevalent in most every fruit and vegetable that you can eat. The National Cancer Institute recommends at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, but more can be even more beneficial to your health.

- Get outside! The sunlight provides Vitamin D which is important for the proper mineralization of bones. Also, those who spend time outside often experience less depression and more energy, giving you ample opportunity to increase your workout.

- If you're taking some time out watching TV, you can get a great workout while you watch! When the show that you are watching hits a commercial break, take the opportunity to do a set or two of sit-ups or pushups to help keep in shape. Doing some workout activity every commercial break can make you fit in no time!

These are just some basic tips when it comes to maintaining a proper level of fitness of the body. The proper method of staying in shape includes a combination of proper diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices.

Three Boston Schools To Extend School Day For 2006-2007 School Year

In the fall of 2005, the Boston schools began exploring the education reform strategy of extending the school day for its middle schools. The extended school day gives students more time for learning at a crucial time in their education. The middle school years provide the much-needed preparation for students to enter high school, college and the workforce. Last year, the Boston schools applied for and was awarded a $40,000 planning grant for three schools.

The Boston schools have been awarded grants again this year for another three schools. These three Boston schools were among ten schools across the state that included five school districts. The other four districts are Cambridge, Fall River, Malden, and Worcester, who shared with the Boston schools a total of more than $2.2 million in implementation grants to extend the learning time at the ten schools.

The three Boston schools are:

Clarence R. Edwards Middle School in Charlestown;
Umana/Barnes Middle School in East Boston; and
James P. Timilty Middle School in Roxbury.

Beginning in September 2006, Edwards and Timilty middle schools will begin class at 7:20 a.m., Monday through Friday. They will end school at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and at 11:40 a.m. on Friday. Umana/Barnes will begin classes at 7:35 a.m., Monday through Friday; end school at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and end at 11:40 a.m. on Friday.

As with the schools last year, the Boston schools enlisted the assistance of Boston schools administrators, union representatives, teachers, counselors, principals, parents, and community partners. They worked together to develop the plans and implementation of the extended day at each school. Additionally, the non-profit organization, Massachusetts 2020, gave support to the planning and implementation process. The 2020 group is dedicated to expanding educational and economic opportunities for children and their families within the state of Massachusetts.

The Boston schools interim superintendent, Michael Contompasis, noted that both the students and the teachers benefit from this extra school time. Students receive more classroom instruction time in the core academic subjects that are crucial for their success in high school and college. More time also will be available to students for tutoring, the arts, and recreation. Additionally, teachers are given more time for lesson planning, setting schedules, and for professional development activities.

The Massachusetts Department of Education provides the grants from its Expanded Learning Time to Support Student Success grant program.

The Boston schools have more than 58,000 pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students at 145 schools. The hopes of all concerned is to continue to expand this reform strategy of extended school time; so that student achievement will continue to rise, with students being better prepared for high school, college and the workforce.

Local Residents Under Threat From Poor Computer Security

Local businessman and computer expert Dave Page, who runs Hybrid Computers, is warning home computer users in the Aylesbury area to beware that they are leaving themselves open to identity theft, spying and viruses from unscrupulous broadband hackers.

Typical home surfers shop and bank online; they use popular auction sites such as eBay and are likely to book their holiday on the net too. Lack of computer security is a growing menace for people unaware of the risks that using an unsecured internet connection can cause. The increasing use of laptops that use wireless broadband is adding to the problem. Surfing the net while relaxing in the garden during the warm summer weather may seem a luxury, but vulnerable users can be easily exploited.

Mr Page said: Home surfers have a huge amount of personal information on their PCs. Every time they shop online, they are transferring that information across cyberspace. If they are using an unprotected Wi-Fi connection, rogue users within signal range can surf the net at the expense of someone elses phone bill. This may seem fairly harmless, but it can have a dramatic effect on your surfing speed. But worse, experienced hackers can gain access to your data, files, personal information and more, without you noticing.

He warned that having up-to-date anti-virus software and a firewall is also vital to prevent your computer from being disabled by viruses and spyware programmes that can reveal what you do on the internet. Mr Page explained: Many users already have viruses and spyware on their PCs but are unaware that they are open to attack. Protecting yourself from these problems is really simple. Most home users just need their security settings enabled on equipment they already own. Others just need some additional software, which is very cost-effective compared with the cost of having your identity cloned or your internet connection exploited.

Hybrid Computers deals with these kinds of problems on a daily basis. Dave Page set up the company as he felt the Aylesbury area was not well served, with most computer companies only providing protection for businesses. He said: The reason that thousands of local residents have no security on their wireless networks isnt down to expense; its simply that they have no idea of how to set it up. It costs next to nothing to secure your PC and avoid problems. I recommend that everyone secures their computer today before it is too late.

SAT-minus-1: Are You Ready For Liftoff

Youve made it through weeks, if not months, of study. You know the format and directions of the SAT test cold. Youve developed strategies to show off your strengths and offset your weaker areas. Whats left?

Essentially, the last step in SAT preparation involves ensuring youre at your best, physically as well as mentally, minimizing all distractions so that your entire focus can be on finishing strong in this academic marathon. Heres a list of the top 5 things you should do during SAT exam week.

1. *PRACTICE THE WAY YOU WANT TO PERFORM*

Its a clich in sports and the arts that the way you practice is the way youll perform. Your studying this week should replicate as much as possible the conditions of the actual SAT test. Take numerous practice tests, doing as many sections at once as you will on test day. The more your SAT prep resembles the test itself, especially as the day draws near, the more comfortable you will be when you sit down to take the real thing.

2. *MAKING A LIST AND CHECKING IT TWICE*

With at least three days remaining, compile a checklist of things to be done during the 24 hours before your SAT test begins. Put even the obvious, no-brainer tasks down on this list so that you can free up as much of your brain as possible and maximize your comfort level. The remaining tips in this article will provide you with the raw material necessary to develop this list.

3. *THE GATHERING STORM*

One key section of your SAT checklist will be the materials you need to bring with you to the testing center. These include your admission ticket, an acceptable photo ID, several #2 pencils and erasers, an acceptable calculator (with fresh batteries), and a watch with no audible alarm. Select a book bag or other means of carrying these items, and set them in a designated place in your home at least twelve hours before you leave for the testing center.

4. *GET ME TO THE TEST ON TIME*

After weeks of studying for the SAT, you should be quite capable of managing the logistics required to get yourself to the testing center with plenty of time to spare. Arrange for transportation (preferably, have someone else drive you and pick you up afterwards) and confirm your route beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Be sure to add in extra time for potential traffic or other delays, and write down the time you intend to leave your house.

Prior to going to bed the night before, set at least two alarms (one of which should be battery-powered), and/or arrange for a wakeup call if that would make you feel safer.

5. *MAKE SURE YOUR TANK IS FULL*

The last thing you want to be fighting while taking the SAT test is your own body. For at least three nights prior to test day make sure you get plenty of sleep, waking up at approximately the time you will need to on test day. Arrange to have a full, hot breakfast made for you to eat at a leisurely pace before arriving at the test center.

Finally, ease up on your studying the day before the test: focus more on your checklist, your familiarity with the SAT test, and your tricks and tools. Also, take some time to relax. Do something purely for fun: sometimes getting your mind off the SAT test is the best preparation. If you have given your SAT preparation all the time and care possible, this should be a time of confidence, knowing that its almost over and youre as prepared as you possibly can be.

Oops, Almost Forgot Were At War

These days we have more reasons than wed really like to think the worst of the world.

The news pulls into our lives every morning like a train, filled with discouraging baggage, like the daily Baghdad body count, the evil expostulations of leading malefactors, and, to add dismay to our discouragement, we regularly hear our own leaders speak of trying to locate and kill this or that terrorist, even relatively jocular Bill Clinton saying, in regard to his own intentions toward Osama Bin Laden, that he would have taken him out. Who are we hearing here, Mafioso Bill?

Encompassed as we are by such darkness, are we to despair entirely of the longed-for concept of a civilized world? Not really.

What we often forget is that we really are at war, a different kind of war, to be sure, that is sort of the steadily simmering pot of evil-begets-evil, instead of the pot boiling over with such outright ingredients of war as infantries shooting and bayoneting each other en masse.

But we are, nevertheless, at war. And during such an unfortunate episode, there always are such regrettable items as the daily body count and leaders, even the most distinguished, plotting, as they must, the death of the enemy.

Yet somehow civilization, bruised and brutalized as it has all too frequently been by wars of one kind or another, goes on and emerges after the horror and heroism into a new, if brief, time of peace and reassurance.

So lets not let all the brutal news brutalize us so much we forget about all the other civilized people who need us to keep our faith in civilization.

Why Should You Become A Poker Affiliate?

One reason that you should become a poker affiliate is that you should be able to make money. Every time somebody that you referred to goes to the website, you should get profits as high as 25 to 35 percent. As long as the person is alive, you will get money when they play on the website. The referred people also get special bonuses that are not available to the general public. It is not only you who makes money, but the referred people as well. It seems a good situation for the people involved.

You may think that it is good to be true, but it is not. For one thing, affiliate marketing is not a new idea. Big corporations like Amazon, Barnes and Netflix have used affiliate programming to expand their businesses and they have not been accused of misleading the public.

You might not want to become a poker affiliate because you think the sign-up process is a hassle. It is actually very easy. You should be able to get through the signing process in five minutes. It goes so fast since all you have to do is provide your name and contact information. They also tell you how you will get paid. They will not ask very personal, sensitive information like your birth date, social security number or credit numbers.

You might think that you cannot become a poker affiliate because you don't have a website. It is not necessary for you to have a website to promote online poker. Poker affiliate programs give you a bonus code so you can give that bonus code to other people. You tell this bonus code to other people. When these people go on the website and use your bonus code, they will be credited to you as people that you referred. These new players should not forget their bonus codes as they will get bonuses for using the bonus codes. These affiliate poker programs make sure that you are credited and that you will get the money for your work.

Choose the Right Website Copywriter to Boost Your Website's Profits

Running a website is not an easy job; it takes some effort to make money online. There must be hundreds of millions of webpages out there struggling to be noticed by search engines and by their target audiences. If you are a website publisher who's eager to get your brand or service in front of the right readers, it would take more than just a good logo or business concept to get them flocking to and trusting your site. To grab people's attention and increase website traffic, you must provide something extra, something unique, something they may not find elsewhere. But the problem is, you may have so much on your plate as it is that you can't possibly provide grade-A content 100% of the time. Even great webmasters and website publishers need a little help sometimes.

If you think about it, no amount of black hat SEO or link wizardry will get you the long-term results you are really shooting for. High-quality content is what your target customers want. Skillful linkbuilding may build a lot of short- to mid-term traffic but classic content lasts a long long time. To make serious money online, you have to give your clients this content. Many website owners invest their time and money in web design and online promotions without even considering the importance of original content. Do you really want to look just like your direct competitor -- providing a mirror-image of their services to your readers and potential clients? High-quality content, as opposed to knock-off imitations and readily available templates, is crucial to a website's success. What you need are highly capable content producers who will drive qualified traffic to your website and give it some distinction. This is what competent and effective website copywriters are all about -- producing quality content for your website and help you make money online.

But before you hire, you must ask yourself what exactly you are looking for in a website copywriter. The following guidelines will certainly help you pick the best website copywriter to help you increase your online profits:

1. Can they produce quantity as well as quality?

This is extremely important; high quality content is imperative, and so is quantity. A constant and steady amount of high-quality material is an essential ingredient for a successful online business. A website copywriter has to be able to deliver both quantity and quality to make you money. With this in mind, you must ask them for a guaranteed daily quota. You would want a lot of work done in a short span of time, but you can't possibly expect high quality with that mindset. When you ask for too high a quota you will probably be sacrificing quality. Somewhere around 2000 words a day is average.

2. Will they be able to produce original content?

There are a lot of ways to ensure that your content is purely original. Ask the website copywriter for a guarantee that all written materials will be checked explicitly for duplicate content. To avoid plagiarism and other copyright issues, they must run their work through originality checkers such as webmasterlabor.com/tools/checker and copyscape.com, or other reliable duplicate content checkers available to them. Your content plays a very important role in search engine optimization. Passing off content that you can easily find in thousands of other sites won't help your PageRank or traffic at all. Original high-quality content is indeed the best way to optimize search engine results -- and a website copywriter producing original material makes it all happen.

3. Does the website copywriter have a back-up?

When you retain the services of a ghost writer for a long period of time (to produce blocks of content, for example), you must make sure that there are contingencies in place -- just in case they become unavailable all of a sudden. Having a back-up will ensure your deliverables. Moreover, you have to ask if the back-up is just as, if not more, capable than the original writer. You wouldn't want your content quality to nosedive whenever your leased writer is temporarily unavailable. Using a copywriting company, as opposed to a single freelancer, is your best choice if delivery and quality consistency are important to you.

4. Does the website copywriter have an editor?

Some website copywriters for hire could very well be their own editors. But wouldn't it be better if they had someone to help them with errors they could overlook themselves? Editors play a key role in this process because they make sure that the writer's work is delivered on time, every time. They check for grammatical errors, inconsistencies in flow, compliance with your instructions, and overall quality of the writer's work. Also, they function as project managers; they inform the writer of the topical and stylistic guidelines that the client requires.

5. Do they follow a quality-assurance process?

How can you be sure that you are getting materials that live up to your own standards? Would it cost you extra to send some back to the writer for revisions? Website copywriters should follow protocol as far as quality-assurance is concerned. First, they must submit a block sample of their work to the client. Second, they make necessary revisions after receiving client feedback. This process continues until the client gets what they want. Meanwhile, the website copywriter shoulders all costs incurred during these revisions. Quality-assurance like this will only guarantee the best results in output and client satisfaction.

6. Will the writer surrender full rights of the materials produced to the client?

All materials produced by a website copywriter must be on a purely work-for-hire basis. Ideally, the client assumes all rights to the materials obtained from the writers during the length of their employment or contract. Under the work-for-hire system, copyright ownership falls on the client and not the writer.

7. Can you, as the client, set the tone or style for the articles?

You can, as the hiring party, ask the website copywriter to follow certain parameters -- specifying demographics, for instance. As the client, you must also welcome the writer's preferences in tone and style for the job. To be able to work efficiently, you must allow them to make any suggestion that they think would cater to your audience better.

8. Will they accommodate your format requirements?

Ask for an OS platform-neutral delivery format so your text can be published correctly. These are usually in the form of .txt or .html files.

Website copywriters who offer these services and more will promote a business relationship that is result-oriented, stable, and consistent. With the best copywriter working for you, you can sit back, relax, and leave the arduous content work to them for a change.

Gifts to rock their world:

For the man who has everything: A professional massage planned at work (call his boss and arrange the timing to not conflict with any important business)

For a hot relationship: An overnight stay at an adult hotel after a romantic dinner. (make sure the hotel is high class not one where prostitutes get hourly rates.

For a couple with no money, but a TV set: Males, tell your woman you love her, wish you could give her the world, but can she accept at this time in the relationship your holding her hand during the shows and cuddling with her all night, breakfast in bed in the morning. Female: Get something that resembles ribbon, wrap it over the remote and tell him he gets to watch whatever he wants tonight with you sitting next to him and sharing the experience.

Gift Certificates are great for any occasion as long as you follow the rules:

Make it as specific as possible but broad enough to enjoy. Specific, something you know they like, NOT BECAUSE YOU LIKE IT, you can like it, just know that they like it. Know, dont assume. If they go to the movies regulary, a pass to a theater with 21 screening would rock, passes to your favorite sub-titled french film would not rock.

If they are always brand name clothes shopping a gift certificate to a store that carries their brand of clothing would rock, a gift certificate to Walmart would not rock.

If they are into tools and do-it-yourself home projects, software of house how to such as Home Depot or This Old House would rock. Giving them a drill would not rock (unless you know they are looking for a drill and you know it is their favorite brand of drill).

These little things may seem obvious to those that gift all of the time and receive rave reactions. Bless you. But for those of you who feel you bumble and stumble through the gift giving process I hope this helped.

Entering College For Free Through Scholarship

The cost of college education is constantly increasing every year. Presently, a student has to pay for about $20,000 on an average school. The problem is, at this amount many American households find it difficult to maintain at least a member of their family to finish a degree or at least stay in school for the following year. This problem can be solved, however, through college scholarships.

There are different college and university scholarships available for different types of student. With a little knowledge on their nature, you may find one where you can fit in; and hopefully finishing college for free.

So what are your college scholarship options?

Academic scholarship

Academic scholarship is given to students who receive the highest mark in the graduation class, endorse by the school to apply for an academic scholarship or meet the necessary grade point average set by the school. If you do not fall in any of the conditions mentioned, ask your high school academic guidance counselor for details on the different ways on how to avail for academic scholarships. Usually some colleges and universities accept applicants with an average high school GPA but pass the entrance test(s).

Athletic scholarship

Colleges and universities offer free education for students with exceptional gift in sports. Recipients of the athletic scholarship are often selected among the graduating high school students. However, there are some schools that open the possibility for students to apply for athletic scholarship after they have enrolled in college.

Corporate scholarship

Many companies stretch their services by granting students with free college education. The good thing about corporate scholarship is that upon receiving the degree, the grantees are assured to land on a job (on the same company that gave them the scholarship).

Institutional scholarship

Many private individuals, institutions, and groups give free college education to those who cannot pay for college tuition. Some of them answer the need of a particular race, age, gender, and locale among others.

Union scholarship

Most union scholarship grants are given to the children of its members. If one of your parents is a member of a certain union, you can inquire about the possibility of applying for a college scholarship.

Religious organizations

Religious organizations and church groups allocate a fund for scholarship grants to their members who cannot afford the cost of college education. You can inquire about this in your church.

Local government grants

One of the best sources of free college education is your local government. Here, you can get as much as 100% scholarship grant depending on their set conditions. Availing a local government scholarship can also give you a big chance to land on a job immediately.

Know all these and you will surely go to college for free.

How to Review Your Home Security Needs & Choose a Home Security Company

Before you choose a home security system, it is important to take the time to review your needs. There are three primary areas that should be assessed: your security needs, credibility of the security company, and your budget.

Starting with your security needs, undoubtedly, you will be the best judge of what your actual needs are. It pays to have a security expert come in, however, to offer suggestions that you may not know of or think of yourself. An expert will look at your house with a trained eye, finding the most vulnerable spots, such as a window facing an open field or a balcony with a climbable tree right beside it.

The security expert will give you a list of all the problem spots and can recommend the best type of equipment to protect them. He/she will also be able to tell you exactly how many contact sensors, motion sensors, video cameras, etc. you'll need to protect your home effectively.

Next, youll need to consider if it would be favourable to install a stand-alone security system or one that comes with central monitoring. If you are away frequently and your house is somewhat secluded, central monitoring is advisable. Credibility and reputation of the security company are important factors to consider, especially if youre planning to go with the latter choice. We will discuss this in detail shortly.

The final thing to consider is the cost. You'll obviously need to make a choice that covers your security needs reasonably and fits within your budget. Keep in mind, however, that many home insurance policies offer discounts when an alarm is installed; this may help to offset a part of the cost of the security system.

Choosing a Home Security Company

When you're looking for a home security company, you will find both large companies (like Brinks and ADT) to smaller companies that are authorised installers for the bigger companies. In between these two lie medium sized firms that offer affordable prices for their security services.

Most companies provide multiple services such as assessing your security needs, installing the equipment and central monitoring. You should check if the monitoring station is UL (Underwriters Laboratory) certified, has power backups in case of a power outage, a good staff training program and a good relationship with the local authorities in case of an alarm call.

When you're ready to invest in a home security system, talk to a few different companies before having anything installed. They will conduct risk assessments to ascertain your home security challenges and how to address them.

Reputable home alarm companies will meet you in person at your homenever exclusively by phone. They will look around, discuss your needs and possible limitations, and recommend solutions that have worked for other customers.

Experts recommend getting quotes from three to four different installers. Ensure that you get all pricing quotes in writingincluding set up, equipment, monthly monitoring fees, and warranties. The first company you speak to may seem to have a fantastic deal, but don't sign anything immediately. Take your time and meet with a few other companies and find out who offers the best balance of price and security. Some security companies require you to sign a contract for a certain length of time, which can easily extend to a period more than a year. Once you sign the contract, it can be difficult (and expensive) to get out of the contract.

Once you receive quotes and narrow down your search of home security companies, get references from each providerprevious clients who gave permission to be contacted about that dealer's service. Find out why they chose that particular company and ask questions about the companys quality of service:

Did they install the system quickly, within the timeframe they guaranteed?

Are they readily available if you encounter any problems?

Did the representative explain to everyone in your household how the system works?

Were the contracts unambiguous and straightforward?

If you ever experienced an intrusion, did the central station speedily dispatch authorities?

Will you receive a reasonable notice period if the alarm company sells your contract off to another central station?

In addition, some of the questions you should ask when talking to different security companies include:

- How long have they been in business?

- Do they have the relevant licenses and certifications?

- Are they insured against damages during the alarm installation?

You could also talk to your friends and neighbours and see if they have any recommendations.

Computer Security Certification

If there has ever been a growth field, it is computer security certification. With a good computer security certificate from a reputable college, you can go anywhere. Even if you go to one of those IT training schools the you see advertised on daytime television, your certification computer security will probably open doors for you. There are all kinds of jobs for computer security experts, from Homeland security to private industry. You can help prevent data theft, write computer security software, or investigate hackers for law enforcement. For a security certified network professional, the sky is the limit.

I had never expected to get into computer security certification when I was growing up. If anything, I was on the other side of the law. Many of the experts in computer security certification were hackers when they were kids. I used to try to break into all kinds of things just to see if I could do it. It wasn't a matter of malicious intent. I just wanted to test the boundaries and see what holes computer security systems had in them. To me, it was more of a game or an intellectual exercise than an act of vandalism. Unfortunately, law enforcement did not see it that way. I was caught when I was 16 years old, breaking into the offices of a major multinational corporation. Because of my age I got off with probation, but I realized that I had to turn my life around.

I got my computer security certification training after a few years of soul-searching. To be honest, I was tempted to give up computer hacking altogether, but finally I realized that this was not the course for me. I was just too fascinated by computer networking and the security issues that it involved. I knew that, if I did not go into computer security, it was only a matter of time before I would get into trouble again. Temptation would overwhelm me, and I would suddenly found myself hacking into something or other. Although a I could get away with it for years this time (I had learned from my mistakes) is still didn't seem to be worth the risk. In the long run, I would get caught. That is why I got my computer security certification. As a certified information security auditor, I can make my hobby into my life and stay on the right side of the law.

Safe Online Surfing

If you believe that adults can suffer from identity theft or be mislead by online criminals, imagine what children can experience in case their online surfing time is not properly guided. In fact, parents should know that when children are online, it is just like they are out in public. Thus, educating kids and monitoring their online surfing time can save parents from the anguish of having to deal with an uncomfortable situation later.

Exposed to a variety of stimuli, children today are able to surf and visit websites, portals, enter chat rooms or participate in online games. Since technology has brought a tremendous shift in children's recreational time, kids should be taught that when they are talking with someone in a chat room or an instant message session, they are actually interacting with strangers unless they know in person the other party from the "real" world, like their school class or sports team.

A number of social studies reveal a shocking number. One in 4 children between the ages of 10 and 17 are exposed to sexually explicit imagery and nearly 20 percent has received an unwanted sexual solicitation during the past year. Although "kids are tough" and are not deeply hurt by these experiences as they consider them as a forbidden "fun" game between peers, a number of parents have reported that their children have been clearly disturbed by these type of online exposures. Surely, apart from the kids, parents are also extremely annoyed by the fact that unwanted exposures to porn and suitors have entered their kids' lives through the virtual reality of a computer screen. But the fact remains that even when children are not looking for these kind of information online, they can readily find such material accidentally and then not to know how are they supposed to react.

The situation for parents seems very difficult and organizations, or administrative units like the Commission on Online Child Protection, have been examining the subject of online children protections in great extend. The problem is that safety issues and moral issues tend to overlap and while parents agree that their children online safety is among the top priorities on their list, they have not yet reached a stage of mutual agreement of their concerns or a reasonable and effective strategy to limit the chances of their kids being exposed to such kind of unwanted imagery or solicitations.

As no single solution currently exists, it is imperative for parents to educate their kids and explain that the internet is just like a city street with interesting parks and happy people but also full of dangerous characters and speedy drivers. Since identity can be hidden or even altered while one is online it is crucial to make sure your children understand not to reveal any information about their identity or whereabouts that would allow someone to track them down. Of course that means that no names, addresses, phone numbers, school or parents' work locations and e-mail addresses. Finally, it is important for kids never to get together alone with someone they meet online. If for whatever reason, your child feels that it is absolutely imperative to get together with someone that they have "met" online, make sure it's in a public place, like a restaurant, at a reasonable hour and that a parent is present. Although this does not give you much assurance that everything will go well, you will at least be able to check the person's age, gender and demeanor.

What are the Benefits of FAFSA?

In the present day, it can quite expensive to attend a college in the United States, and the rate at which the tuition fee is escalating, college education is bound to get even more expensive. Five years ago the cost of education at a private college or university was $15,000 per year. Now, it has risen to $21,235 a year, that is, an increase of 40 percent. On the other hand, the average American household income rose by just four percent during the same period.

The picture is no different for state-run colleges and universities. Although they are less expensive when compared to private colleges, but they have also been compelled to increase their tuition fees. According to Patrick Callen, president for the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education, Public institutions have had their budgets cut by states, and they've been raising tuition fees to replace public money that's been taken out of their budgets.

In such a bleak scenario, federal student financial aid appears to be the only feasible way to abbreviate the gap in the cost of education. However, you cannot apply for federal financial aid directly. The federal government will first determine your eligibility for the aid, and for this you would have to fill out the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. In addition to the federal government, the state governments, schools and other financial institutions will also use the information from FAFSA to ascertain your eligibility for non-federal student aid programs.

The 102 questions in FAFSA are framed to retrieve your academic, personal, financial and identification information. After meticulous scrutinization of your FAFSA, the federal government will send you as well as the colleges, which you had enlisted in your form, a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR contains EFC (Expected Family Contribution) that is calculated on the basis of facts that you had divulged through the FAFSA. The federal government and other funding agencies use EFC to determine your eligibility for various kinds student financial assistance programs.

In nutshell, unless you fill out and submit FAFSA, federal as well as non-federal financial aids will remain inaccessible for you.

How To Play The Par Three's

It pays to plan carefully for playing par 3 holes. Most courses have four par 3s which the average golfer can reach with tee shot. Threes on these holes can do a lot for your score and give you a psychological lift. So make the most of the opportunity.

Club Selection Forget your ego. Take as much club as you will need to carry the ball to the pin. A check at one event showed 90 percent of tee shots stopping short of the hole; 40 percent short of the green. So consider taking longer club than you might expect to use.

Consider distance to the pin, not green. It can vary one or two clubs, depending on pin, not green. It can vary one or two clubs, depending on pin placement and position of tee markers. Remember; Distance on card is from middle of tee to middle of green. So check pin placement and the tee markers before selecting a club.

Consider also the wind. Tossing some grass on the tee is not enough. The wind may be blowing differently at the green, where its effect is greatest. So check the flag and tops of trees near the green.

Another distance factor is green elevation. If its elevated, better add 10 yards; lower, deduct 10.

Knowing you have correct club will increase confidence, help you make a smooth swing. You dont want to force the swing. That would affect your rhythm and swing arc. This should be a control shot.

AIM- Study the green carefully to plan where you want to aim. Since theres small margin for error on a par 3, play for the safe part. Youll be putting for a birdie. Adjust aim to allow for crosswind.

TEE- Always use a tee, but keep the ball close to turf so you can take divot and get backspin with iron. Once someone asked Gene Sarazen why he used a tee when most place the ball on the turf, he replied: I play for money.

TIP TO REMEMBER Swing well within yourself.

The Tooth Trolls Are Lurking

Every mother wants her babies to grow up happy and healthy and avoid the mistakes of their parents. In my generation, tooth decay was rampant. By adolescence, I had a filling in just about every groove and fissure on all my back teeth. I spent the summers at the dentists office and I hated going. Ugh!

This generation of mothers knows so much more than my mother and I did about oral health. First of all, they have been reading more and more in the media about how important the mouth is to whole body health. They are hearing the message that specific bacteria (not just a dirty mouth) are responsible for cavities and gum diseases, and by reducing the numbers of these organisms, and yes, even by eliminating them through good anti-bacterial self-care, mouth infections like cavities and gingivitis can be avoided before they start. Moms also know about keeping sugars and carbohydrates - those foods that feed the mouth bugs - to a minimum.

Mouth germs are not present when a baby is born. They are transmitted, often from mother to infant or caregiver to child. Although kissing your new infant on the mouth is part of a mother's instinct, be aware that those innocent and affectionate pecks you plant on babys lips may be loaded with bacteria that can cause tooth decay in your little one.

Most adults have Strep Mutans, a bacterium that is responsible for tooth decay. Other microorganisms in adults mouths that are responsible for gum disease can also pass from parent to child via saliva; from sharing eating utensils, cups, straws, and toothbrushes. When children put their fingers in Mom or Dads mouth and then their own, and when parents pre-taste Babys food from a common spoon, mouth bacteria can be transferred from one to another.

Here are a few tips that will help ensure your childs good oral health:

Give your baby her own toothbrush early on. She will love to watch you and imitate good brushing techniques.

Make sure you teach your child to brush his gums and tongue as well as his precious teeth.

Do not put toothpastes, especially with fluoride, on the brush because babies and toddlers tend to swallow the sweet and tasty stuff.

Be sure to brush your childs teeth at least twice a day until they are old enough to do it themselves properly. I brushed my sons teeth before bedtime until he was nine. I admit I am a bit obsessive about oral hygiene.

As toddlers, you can lay them across your lap, (sing to them if necessary to make it enjoyable) and be sure to remove the plaque on their teeth and gums everyday.

Before sleep is the most important time to brush because if the germs and sugars that cause cavities aren't removed, they have all night to do their damage.

Dr. Stephen Offenbacher, dental researcher at UNC, Chapel Hill , who is well-known for his studies on chronic periodontal infections as they relate to preterm births, offers good counsel. Oral infections are both PREVENTABLE and TREATABLE. I totally agree. If your little one learns from the beginning to get rid of the tooth trolls, he can proudly show off an eye-catching, attractive smile, healthy gums, and fresh breath . . . for a lifetime.

Sheila Wolf, RDH, affectionately called Mama Gums, has been a registered dental hygienist since 1971. She is currently enjoying writing, speaking, and consulting on various oral health issues. Knowing The Woodworking Terminology

Woodworking is responsible for lots of the houses, furniture and other wooden materials and articles used in homes and office surroundings. Simply defined, woodworking is the art or craft (of which it seems more like magic) of creating things out of wood. Woodworking is usually done by a carpenter but nowadays anyone can do it, it can be learned to a point in a very short period of time and is a very enjoyable pass time.

Woodworking is an art and while it may come easy for carpenters to build other peoples construction requirements, most people have a hard time building even a simple four sided cabinet. Woodworking is an acquired skill and most carpenters/ woodworkers learned the skill early on in life. Being able to create quality and decorative woodworks is really a gift which not all people are able to do very easily.

The art of woodworking used to be done manually by skilled carpenters and the likes. However, new technological advancements now allow for the discovery of new machines that have made woodworking less manual, more modern and more creative and efficient (plus a heck of a lot more accurate). Instead of shaping wood materials in mans creative but flaw full hands, the woodworkers now make use several machines to shape the wooden product they want to make.

A beginning woodworker should have the necessary tools and supplies even if he is just starting out in his craft. Woodworking power tools can be quite tempting but those who don't have the budget for such gadgets should stick with the hand woodworking tools.

The modernization of woodworking has lifted the woodworking art to a new level. Modern woodworking tools and equipment led to the mushrooming of do it yourself shops that offer wooden materials, project designs for specific woodwork and the corresponding tools and equipment that can be used by the aspiring woodworker.

Both aspiring and expert woodworkers should be aware of the important terminologies used in woodworking. One often-used term is milling, which is the use of a mill for grinding a board. Woodworkers should know that board-feet isn't a kind of furniture but it is a standard measurement when selling rough lumber in the United States. On the other hand, yield doesn't refer to harvest of agricultural products but it is the term given to denote the efficiency of milling unprocessed lumber. Waste is a common result when milling rough wood so when you are said to have accomplished a hundred percent yield, it means you have milled the rough lumber without producing any waste at all.

Woodworking is also synonymous with joints so you should know the different kinds of joints. A dovetail joint is a stable and sturdy joint for a woodworking project. Dovetail joints can be done with the use of a scroll saw or even by hand. What matters is you know the technique of creating dovetails and you are patient and skillful. Another type of joint is the mortise and tenon joint, a kind of woodworking joint popularly used in ships. It is also a sturdy joint and a project using this kind of joint will definitely be a showcase of your woodworking prowess.

There are several terms used in woodworking which every woodworker should know. If you aren't aware of them then you must do some research or talk to expert woodworkers as you may learn a lot from them.

When starting out, choose a workbench that fits the place where you do your woodworking projects. A workbench with a wood top would be ideal. The size of the workbench also depends on the type of woodworking projects you intend to do in the future. If it is just for crafting toys then a small bench would be ideal.

Archiving in the Technological Era

Data retention has long been a vital business practice, allowing companies to use client information, assess company growth, and retrieve and manipulate data on past performance, all with the goal of propelling business growth and success. A number of factors contribute to a companys need to retain data, such as future analyses of business processes and compliance with government regulations that continue to lay out stricter requirements regarding the retention, disclosure and disposal of business data. The technological era has brought about a proliferation of electronic file data, spurring revolutionary change in the way data is collected, retrieved, archived and disclosed.

Businesses are faced with the challenge of adhering to varying data retention requirements at the federal and state levels. Many recent laws have increased the length of time that businesses must retain data, placing increasing pressure on companies to institute data archiving systems with the capacity to securely store increasing amounts of information, possibly for decades. Besides placing time requirements on data retention, regulations also require that data be secure, unable to be edited and produced on demand with short notice. To ensure security and that records are retained in a non-editable format, organizations must have an archiving system separate from the operational and reference data that is still needed for frequent business transactions and queries.

Some notable sanctions propelling the need for businesses to implement a comprehensive data retention system are the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and BASEL II. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which imposes strict standards regarding the retention of accounting data, was overwhelmingly passed in 2002 by the United States House of Representatives and the Senate. HIPAA, commonly known as the Privacy Rule, is a health industry standard aimed at allowing the flow of patients health data for health research purposes without disclosing an individuals protected health information, and requiring entities to preserve and be prepared to readily disclose data for six years. Similarly, BASEL II places disclosure requirements on the financial industry.

Ever increasing data retention requirements also place monumental pressure on enterprise data availability software companies to produce the most advanced archiving solutions with tremendous capacities and prolonged reliability. Available data archiving solutions give companies the capability of storing great amounts of data that is no longer needed for business purposes in a protected, non-editable format in a location that will not affect the data that is crucial to business operations. Such systems can provide a user friendly interface to streamline implementation of a companys data archiving strategy, and automatically discard information once it reached the mandatory data retention time frame.

Lean when Based on Toyota Production System Fails for High-Mix Manufacturers

The 2007-05-02 issue of USA Today features an article titled Toyotas success pleases proponents of lean. The popularity of lean manufacturing today has come almost entirely from Toyotas success. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2007-05-02-toyota-lean-usat_N.htm

However, the article goes on to state that a survey by management consulting firm Bain shows that only 19% of companies that have tried lean are happy with it. While there are a number of barriers to success in using lean, one clear problem is that the challenges faced by high-mix manufacturing are not adequately addressed by low-mix techniques of Toyota-based lean approaches.

The buzzword lean often encapsulates cellular, group technology, balancing capacity, load leveling, kanban and tact time concepts. These concepts will not and cannot deliver value to high-mix manufacturers excepting setup-time reduction, kanban and 5S (i.e., orderliness and cleanliness). For high-mix manufacturers, it is likely that few of these companies that have tried Toyota Production Systembased Lean (Lean-TPS) are happy with it. When the concepts are implemented, they are often weak approximations of Lean-TPS or true implementation is impossible to achieve at all. Most of the problem emanates from highly volatile incoming order dynamics unique to high-mix manufacturing.

The fundamental operational dynamics for high-mix manufacturing requires a different approach that TPS-Lean is ill equipped to address. In the original translation of the book, Toyota Production System from Industrial Engineering Viewpoint, it states that the TPS Kanban system, could only be adapted only in the case of repetitive production and impossible to utilize for individual production.

For high-mix manufacturing, a systems-based approach is essential. 21st century state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques are based on the science called holonics. Holonics is a systems-based approach which provides stability in the face of disturbances, delivers adaptability and flexibility in the face of change while maintaining efficiency, and facilitates agility.

Each of the key areas of manufacturing is approached within the overall holonics systems architecture approach. A complete understanding of MRP and its proper setup and use is fundamental to attaining a lean inventory position. Capacity planning and synchronized scheduling methodology enables efficiency and high throughput. Tactical alignment with strategic goals is a must for achieving superior levels of responsiveness and delivery performance.

The high-mix, low volume environment benefits from a holonics architecture rather than a TPS-Lean model. Proper modeling of the overall organizational architecture coupled with an operational model and communications strategy and tactics is the recipe for attaining competitive advantage. Holonics delivers that competitive advantage today for high-mix manufacturers.

3 Secrets Schools Never Teach You to Get Your Research Paper Written Fast!

If you are like most students you have too many classes, too much work, and not enough time in which to do it. Unfortunately, schools do not teach students many tips and tricks for writing research papers or term papers quickly.

Because of a large course-load or tight time constraints, students sometimes feel pressured to produce a research paper quickly, and without the tools to do it themselves, many times they turn to plagiarism, or buy plagiarized papers, and submitting them as their own. This obviously has a detrimental affect on their education. These three secrets will help you feel prepared in the event you face a looming research paper or term paper deadline.

Secret #1) Topic selection is vitally important to the overall speed at which you ultimately compose your entire paper. Unknown to most students, topic selection has a huge impact on the total time it takes to write any college paper. The best topic (all else being equal) is the one that is easiest and fastest to write a paper about.

The right topic must provide plenty of research materials. If you cant find sufficient quality resources, you may have to start all over again, or change your thesis statement so you have more to write about. Youll finish faster overall, if you spend extra time at the beginning of the process researching, planning, and validating your topic.

Secret #2) Perform extremely efficient library research. It is called a research paper, after all. Researching your subject efficiently and effectively is the single most important factor in your overall writing time. The more efficiently you perform research, the more solid resources youll find. The more resources to draw from, the easier your paper is to write. The paper quality (and grade) will improve in proportion to the amount and quality of material upon which to draw in support of your thesis statement.

It is also very important to organize your resources efficiently. All of us have had the experience of getting to the paper compiling or writing stage, only to find that we didnt capture information that we were looking at earlier in the day. Either we didnt bring the book home from the library, didnt take proper notes on it, and / or failed to photocopy the materials. It is important to develop an efficient system to:

* capture your findings
* sort through them for relevance
* extract the key data
* save them for later reference

Secret #3) Know when to write an outline, or skip it. Outlines can help you immensely, or be a complete waste of your time, depending on the circumstances. The trick is to identify and understand which situation you are in. This is another area where traditional wisdom is dead wrong. High schools and universities always teach that you should write an outline. It is considered (by them) to be a critical step in planning a research paper or term paper.

Outlines are like roadmaps, they show you where you are going. At first glance, this makes sense. On the other hand, how many times do you get into your vehicle without first consulting a map? Did you need it? Probably not; it depends on the length of the trip, and the complexity of the route.

Weve all had the experience of taking a map on a road trip, using it, and finding ourselves completely confused. It happens all the time, with road trips, and with writing research papers for school. Sometime highly detailed outlines look great! But then you find yourself having a very difficult time making your paper resemble the outline. The harder you try, the more stymied you get. So understanding when to create an outline, and when to skip it, is a real source of confusion.

Conclusion

Secrets - they help! The more secrets, the better, and the faster you complete your writing assignments. Put these three secrets to work, and you will write research papers faster than you ever thought possible!
